    MAISY

Maisy is a 6 year old greyhound lady who is now retired from racing. She is in good health and has a white coat with black patches reminisent of a fresian cow!

Maisy is a newcomer to our kennels and we are still getting to know her. So far she has been very well behaved and is getting used to all our cuddles. She has gotten on very well with all the other greyhounds, and seems a relaxed, quiet girl who enjoys her daily walks but isn't overly active or hyper. She travels good in the car, is used to being handled and walks well on the lead without pulling.

Maisy has not yet experienced the joys of a home environment, so new owners will need to be understanding for the first couple of weeks and allow her to settle in. She has not yet been tested with smaller dogs or cats, but these can be carried out prior to adoption if needed.

We have paired Maisy up with Daisy, her litter sister who came in with her. Though Maisy can be homed on her own, if someone is looking for a matching pair of greyhounds, you wont find a better pair than Maisy and Daisy!

Maisy is currently in kennels in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

    **UPDATE 07/2010**

Maisy was lucky enough to partake in the Kerry Greyhound Connection annual Jamboree in Kerry recently. She behaved brilliantly amongst all the crowds of people, children and other dogs and didn’t put a paw out of line.

Maisy was fine when introduced to some smaller dogs at the Jamboree too, including a small terrier and a whippet. She is calm and relaxed and is very easy to keep content. Like most greyhounds, Maisy does not need a huge amount of exercise. She is content with two 20 min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as some other breeds of dog and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

Maisy is sure to make a gorgeous companion for whoever decides to open their hearts for her…. and maybe her sister Daisy too!

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Maisy, please email me on [email protected] for our information pack and adoption questionnaire. Thanks!

    ~~ KERRY GREYHOUND CONNECTION ~~

Kerry Greyhound Connection is a small voluntary organisation based in County Kerry, Ireland and Norfolk, England and operates through a network of volunteers. We can look after approximately 50 greyhounds at any one time, in both Ireland and the UK.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and given a full veterinary check before being adopted.
We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in Ireland, the UK, Europe and the USA. We work hard to match the right hound to the right home, and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

We can be contacted via PM or through any of the following:

    Email: [email protected]
    Website: www.kerrygreyhounds.co.uk
    Address: P.O. Box 58, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 7AG.
