Hey all. Just wondered for any Maine coon owners, do you allow your cat out or do you keep them indoors? My understanding is that many are kept as house cats for various reasons. We are yet to get a cat, we love the breed but my partner and I can’t agree on whether he should be allowed out or not. He thinks it’s cruel to keep a cat inside whereas I’d be worried about him out. What do you guys do?

it's not like years ago when cats and dogs were allowed to freely roam. Things have changed , apart from the law concerning dogs, but there is far too much traffic nowadays to allow cats to roam. Cats often go missing in my area, we think that they may be eaten, (apparently they taste like rabbit} although I would think a maine coon would be stolen to keep as a pet . I think that a cat proof garden is the way to go 😀
