looking at puppy food, so confusing

    hi guys

    im looking on zooplus (thanks to everyone who posted on the PAH thread ;)) now i know that she is small now but some of them are puppy/junior food then size from small to large breed what will she be if shes a collie x greyhound? why is anything never simple! :Arghh xx

    P.S been look at:

    Greenwoods - puppy dry food.
    Iams - puppy Large breed?
    Arden Grange - puppy/junior

    Is this for the pup who has diarrhoea? If she was doing ok on the food she was on when you got her I would be tempted to stick with that (once she has recovered), at least until she is a bit more settled.

    im just looking into other foods is all and wanted some advice, obviusly not for now knowing her tummy isn't right, ( i have natural yogurt for her) just for the future as i want her to be as healthy as possible growning up!! x

    I'd certainly cross Iams off the list. Personally I'm not convinced puppy/junior food or senior food is anything more than a gimmick to be honest. I've never switched to senior and if I had a puppy I'd just go with one of the high quality foods.

    I brought Lukullus dry in my last Zooplus order.
    Lukullus is actually cheaper per kg than Greenwoods and Arden Grange. Plus on the allaboutdogfood website it is rated 4.4 higher than Greenwoods and Arden Grange.

    Stick with what you have for now, as mentioned. Check out the dry/wet food indexes. Also check puppy versus adult food ingredients-virtually identical, so I started my last one on the adult version of the food we wanted for him, having spent a lot of time ensuring that percentages/protein levels were similar. Puppy food is a fairly recent invention and possibly completely pointless.

    My puppy is on Arden Grange puppy/junior and is doing amazing on it.
