Been really curious how it is now...been there now and then, but such short stay...

Still very friendly place...with people of African origin the most patient in pointing in the right direction etc ..

Very busy, very mixed and very young...
Where are the older people gone?
    All sent to Spain?

Spent most of the time in Royal Parks etc ..enjoying the green and now the RAIN.
    Cool drizzle ...
    Missed it so much...

Lovely chestnuts and oaks, lindens and plantains...birds and so on...

It is a wonderful place to visit.... WP_20170529_10_59_13_Pro.jpg

Glad you're enjoying your visit Cheeky. I haven't visited London for years so dunno about the older generation. Could it be that because its too expensive for most people to live there so when they retire they moved away?. Just a theory lol

The Londoners on the board will know best but I think most people tend not to live in the middle but on the outskirts and commute in. So the older people will be at work and if it's the weekend they will all be at home. And this time of year it's hooching with tourists so most natives avoid the centre, I think.

I have been to London for over twenty years and that was just to change trains to get to the cross channel ferry, as for a visit it must be over thirty years and I have no wish to go there. It just to expensive and to be honest I've never liked the place, give me Paris any day.

Maybe.. but there a risk where ever you go now, but I'd wouldn't go to London if you paid me, I hate the place.

I agree Im not that keen either to be honest . It's only the tourists that are curious . Londoners tend to keep clear

    Whereabouts are you @cheekyscrip?

Me and dd went into town (Regents st and Oxford st) yesterday, dress shopping for a wedding, it was a joy  I hate crowds.
We both got dresses, miracle :D

I saw quite a few older people, school groups too.

The older people don't appear in London because they are too darned worn out to cope with it! I am a Londoner, born and bred, and I used to love to go to the museums, but I can't do that any more as my limbs won't let me stand and walk and my bladder won't let me queue up for the loo.

So now you know where the older generation are - at home watching it on the telly.:(
