The estate of television presenter Jimmy Savile has been frozen in response to the sex abuse claims made against him, NatWest bank says.

The bank, which is acting as the late DJ's executor, said: "Given the claims raised, distribution of the estate has been put on hold."

Savile's estate is thought to be worth about £4m.

Lawyers representing alleged victims welcomed the decision. They are planning to sue for damages.

I do not doubt that he was a slimy perv who i think did abuse girls but im not convinced it was on such a huge scale and i think people may be jumping on the bandwaggon for compo.

It will be. I don't have any "insider" contacts, but I know enough about people and running a forum. Makes me shudder that there are people out there running with this cr*p. But then I feel better knowing that they wouldn't say this in real life, because it's not acceptable anymore. They have to do it on't'inernet, 'cause in real life they'd be told to go feck themselves.

So it's sort of progress, and that's good.
