My co worker Isla is toasting her self in the sunshine whilst I slog away drinking tea, reading the paper and chatting on PF

Poor Bates, I quicked him badly cutting his nails last night. It didn't seem to hurt but good gawd I could NOT get it to stop bleeding even enough to get the liquid bandage (surgical glue stuff) to stay on. Two soaked kitchen towels later, Bates looking at me with all the pitifulness he could muster (which is a lot), OH and daughter laughing at me, making jokes about Bates feeling light headed... My family is so supportive...
Finally I gave up and just wrapped his entire foot in a kitchen towel and hoped for the best.
Of course it did eventually stop bleeding, but the wrapped foot was far more tragic as far as Bates was concerned than being quicked.
This morning he's still milking it. Apparently the blood loss makes his ears cold so those have to stay covered

I think you guys call them tea towels, they're regular cloth towels, but hand size.
This is the one I finally wrapped around his foot. Two others were totally soaked. I swear nails bleed like crazy!
    IMG_5625.jpg

Can you tell which nail I quicked? :Hilarious:Hilarious
Note to self, when you let nails get stupid long, don't try to undo the damage in one go  I actually was doing layer by layer, I don't know what happened here really. Obviously way too far up. Darned dog didn't even flinch, and with black feet I didn't notice the blood until my hand started getting sticky.:rolleyes:

Now I understand. Kitchen towel here is paper on a roll, and harder to find than hens' teeth now! :p

Archer thinks working from home is for losers & I should be playing tug with him & his tea towel instead!

We call those paper towels :)
Well before the whole Covid 19 thing I've been trying hard to limit our use of paper towels. They are so convenient, but it just seems so wasteful and environmentally unfriendly, so we have an assortment of kitchen towels/rags for cleaning, hand drying, dish drying, dog face wiping etc.

Looking in the kitchen now, I'm glad we've switched to so many reusable options instead of toss and re-stock.

The many uses of a tea towel LOL :D

Bates enjoys getting his face wiped off with one after meals. His evening meal wipe is my cue to toss that day's towel in to the laundry :)
