Layla is a 2 year old greyhound girl who was not fast enough for the race track. She has a soft black coat that will become sleek and shiny once she puts on a bit more condition.

Layla is a livey girl and greatly enjoys her walks. She would do well to go to a home with another youngish dog as a playmate so she can burn off that excess energy. After she has had her daily exercise, she is content to snooze the rest of the day away, but she does need regular daily activity to keep her happy and fit.

Pretty little Layla is friendly with people and likes interacting with her handlers. She has behaved well with the other greyhounds in the kennels, though she hasn't seen much of the world outside of racing kennels so some care will be needed when introducing her to other breeds of dog for the first time. She hasn't yet been in a home, though she is clean in her kennel so we feel it wont take her too long to understand housetraining. We think she will also learn to adore playing with toys, once she knows what they are for! Layla is not cat friendly.

Layla is currently in kennels in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Layla, please email me on [email protected] for our information pack and adoption questionnaire. Thanks!

Kerry Greyhound Connection is a small voluntary organisation based in County Kerry, Ireland and Norfolk, England and operates through a network of volunteers. We can look after approximately 50 greyhounds at any one time, in both Ireland and the UK.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and given a full veterinary check before being adopted.
We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in Ireland, the UK, Europe and the USA. We work hard to match the right hound to the right home, and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

We can be contacted via PM or through any of the following:
