I've seen pictures of people doing everything to dogs the pink lion bichon I have to admit was a favourite not. I would never do that to my dogs.

I've saw a picture even worse on a poodle forum.. The poodle had something like a giraffe, zebra and a lion all clipped and dyed onto it  I wouldn't even beable to walk down the street if Cheeko had that done to him!

It looks funky in a way, but it is horrible that we are vandalising our pets! I for one would never do it to mine:eek:

As long as the dye isn't harming the animal I don't see a problem. It looks stupid but so what?

there is a vid on youtube that i saw once of a bichon that had been dyed to look like a panda and i can honestly say i have never seen something so cute in all my life, if i done it my daughter would never speak to me again lol, its bad enough when i put there coats on them in winter, she despises that sort of thing lol. I am wondering what is in the dye really, does anyone know, id hate to think it could irritate their skin?

    God, how ridiculous!
I think Ty would wholeheartedly object to that-although my wife did once paint his nails pink
She thought it looked pretty, I blamed it on the pregnancy hormones!!!!!!

    yuk!

there was something about a groomers competition in the states a while ago and they did really outlandish things like this, and also used costumes such as cowboy, ballerina and stuff.

not only was it naff but it was taking away all the dogs dignity.
ok the dog doesn't know it looks a fool but thats not the point.

I feel that so long as the dye is dog safe then it's not directly harmful to the dog. My fear is that this is another example of people seeing their dogs as objects or play things rather than as the wonderful creature that they really are.

I have seen hair on a chinese crested dyed before on a american website. The dye they use is a certian sort, that doesn't irratate the skin. It's not something I would do, but it doesn't hurt the dogs, so I'm sure there are alot worse things that could be done.
