So the woman we are buying Ninja from is having her "fleaed" before we get her ....

my question is, does ninja need to wear a flea collar as well as this treatment he will be receiving before he comes home with us?

Sorry if this is a really dense question.

No, he won't. Ask what product has been used as anti-flea treatment. Then make sure you start an anti-flea treatment of your own, and keep it up, especially during summer months. I can recommend Frontline - it's a liquid treatment that is applied high up on the back of the cat's neck, and repeated every 5 weeks. Keeps cats flea-free and doesn't appear to bother them overmuch.
