One of my 14 week old kittens can now jump up onto the worktop in the kitchen from the floor. And whilst I’m rather impressed by his leaping skills, I’d like to deter him from doing it because I’m worried about the distance he has to come down!

Other than taking him off every time he jumps up, has anyone got any other good idea for stopping him doing it? :D

If the only thing that bothers you is the distance put a stool or something near the side. Keeping cats from kitchen surfaces can be done by constant and consistent removal and a firm no every time - or so I'm told :D I just wipe surfaces down and my kittens use the veg rack to climb up until they're big enough to jump.
Keeping them out of the kitchen is the other alternative.
