anyone fed this to their dogs? what about other alternative meats?

looking up ideas for other meals and found a (admittedly australian) website suggesting kangaroo. Just wondering if anyone had tried it??

No mine have never had it - it'd be a cheap and common meat in Oz but expensive and hard to source over here I'd imagine.

We have bought Ostrich and Kangaroo meat in Sainsburys. Haven't been for a while so not sure they still sell it.

We do know of butcher who sells all types of meat. It isn't cheap though.

My dog has eaten ostrich, kangaroo and all sorts of exotics, I get them from a friend who works at a restaurant if it has gone past its sell by date, so not regularly, I am too cheap to buy it specially.

Buster had it once but it was a burger, there's a market comes to town every Christmas with a stall that sells all kinds of weird burgers.

There are websites you can order all sorts of meats off but they're expensive and it's debatable how ethical their sources are.

I've fed wallaby to McKenzie. It's very rich though, and her tummy couldn't cope with a full meal of it. I think there's still some in the freezer.

Dogs are fed 'roo quite commonly, here.

It's very lean meat. It's used for dogs who have sensitivities to some types of protein.

Kangaroos are going to be shot anyway. They're not shot specifically to be used as meat. They're shot to reduce their numbers. I suppose they might as well be used as left to rot. Refusing to buy 'roo dog food on the grounds that it was inhumanely killed will have absolutely no effect on the numbers shot.
