Don't tell Mummy by Toni Maguire

It was really good and very sad. Its a true story and there are some really sick things in there.

Makes you think about what is going on in this world.

Me too. I've recently finished reading Ugly by Constance Briscoe again. I have quite a few books by Cathy Glass, Torey Hayden, Frances Reilly and Donna Ford. I can't count the number of books I have :blushing:

My first true life book was don't tell mummy.. I never cried so much. I haven't read when Daddy comes home, but i got another book called 'Behind Closed Doors' by Jenny tomlin, who's Martine McCutcheons (sp) mum. And I also got another book called Mummy's Little Girl.

i read that one yes. Not the Dave Pelzer ones though..

Does anyone find it weird how people can write about their life like that? I mean, i know its supposed to be theraputic for them and help them put the past behind them in a sense, but it must be so hard to write about that. I know, easy for someone who hasn't gone through child abuse to say....i'm not judging them or anything before anyone says anything to me.

Spaniel Mad, who said anything about Martina Cole? LOL

So you would rather read tear jerky books? LOL

I read fiction based books too - not Martina Cole though i find her boring. I read Danielle Steel mostly but i have read other authors books too like Virginia Andrews, Nicholas Sparks and am currently finishing the Twilight Series. :)

Going back on topic, i woudln't be able to write it down either.

    Tear jerky books yes lol

I have actually read some Danielle Steel books

    Granny Dan is my fave

Takes some guts to write a story about all the abuse you suffered

Do you ever feel like when you read a good book true life or not, that what ever is going on in that book is happening to you? if your'e really engrossed in the book i mean. Is that the right word to use?

It is weird......I've felt that i'm that person, going through all that.

You ever read Danielle's steel's The Long Road Home. I felt i was the girl in that book.

I love torey hayden books she is very much my fav writer, her books are brilliant even her proper story books are so well written

The ugly books are very good aswell.

i enjoy those types of books and chick lit ones by freya north and katie fford
