It's my turn today at 2 PM
I lost my job in October and I really want this job as money is a big problem here.
The job is a call center in a holiday village.

    Well, I have serious doubts.
In fact, I spent the way home in doubt.
    Yes I want the job
    No I don't because...
    But then again....
    Ah, but....

First, it is far more commercial than I thought
Second, had a bad experience in such a job last summer
Third : if I start, I won't have a holiday this summer and as I didn't have one last year, this doesn't sound nice.

I don't know if there are any call center agents here, if so, what is your opinion? Do you like your job, how do you cope with the stress of constant monitoring and such, etc etc

I did it briefly and it drove me mad. I didn't like it at all especially with having to watch what you say because it's all recorded so if some person is very rude you have to be polite to them

I have done it. I used to work at very well known utility company. It was a stressful job in the way that you had targets to meet all the time and you had to cross sell. I used to handle the customers ok, even the awkard ones, but I used to put myself in their shoes and I think that helps :)

I won't have to deal with angry customers because I'm in the bookings dept. But the cross selling bothers me.
If I book a holiday, I'm never interested in extra's like insurance, breakfast service a.o. because I'm already paying enough.
What bothers me most now is the 3 weeks full time training, will miss my puppy and the fact that I won't be able to take a break in summer.
