Jess is a lovely girl, she is crossed between a whippet and greyhound (I think). She is 5. Really good in the home, doesnt chew anything and is fully house trained. As long as she gets her exercise she sleeps a lot in her bed. She doesnt jump up on the bed or anything. She is extremely loving and friendly and greets everyone with a lick. She has never shown any aggression to people that I know of. She isn't great with other dogs though as she hasn't been socialised very well when she was younger. But I have done some work with her and she is much better than she was. Apparently she was just used for hunting and has a really strong hunting instinct so cannot go near cats or any other small pets. She will pinch food if it is left out.

I have tried to take her for walks with calm dogs since I got her in March (she came from the local rescue) and she has got better with this. But she does get very over excited. She never goes off lead with me unless we are in an enclosed tennis court as although her recall is good there, if we were in the open and she saw something to chase she wouldn't come back I don't think (have never tried but she is very hunt orientated and nothing gets in her way). I also wouldn't trust her near sheep.

She is such a good girl I just feel bad that I cant give her the time she needs. My marriage has broken up (2 months after my husband persuaded me to get a dog!) and I am working more so just have not got the time for her. She is not great at being left for long periods although like I say, after a good walk she sleeps so I tend to leave her in the morning after her first walk as she is best left at that time. She will settle well in another home and all she really wants is cuddles, love, food and walks. She is very affectionate and great with older children, don't know how she is with young children. She comes with her bed and lead and all the other bits I bought her as I wont be getting another dog. She settles really well with other families as long as she gets her loves, she is very affectionate.
Please let me know if you want any more information.

And I know she is meant to be taken back there but I am reluctant to put her back in kennels and animal care are aware of the situation and happy for me to try different avenues to re home her, the more places I can talk about her the better chance she has of finding a home. Am happy for anyone to come and visit us and see how lovely she is :)
