jaspers had diarrhoea for 3/4 days (I think due to a food change) so I took him t the vets and the vet said make boiled chicken.

So I made boiled chicken and he hasn’t touched it. He won’t eat it and he’s hardlt touched his water. I’m so worried. What do I do?

He’s not pooed since 8am yesterday but I’m so anxious :(

When I give my guys boiled chicken or turkey, I shred it. They also will lap broth if I just put half an inch or an inch in a bowl, too deep and they tend not to drink.

If he dosen't come around to eating by the afternoon, I might ask the vet for an appetite stimulant, (not sure if you need a vet to get one or if you can yourself.)

    Also, have cat grass available.

Try cat grass also, it can help settle his stomach, if he nibbles.
If you have any broth left, put a little in a saucer or bowl.

Sorry Jasper's still poorly Faye. Don't worry about him not going since yesterday, if he's had diarrhoea and not eating, there won't be much in his tum so its not uncommon for cats not to go for a day or two, it won't hurt.. Did the vet give him anything? I always found Pro Kolin helped settle tummy upsets quickly. Have you tried feeding him bits of chicken by hand?

Hey I just microwaved it and he’s eaten a little bit which is good. When he’s had pro kolin before he spat it at me haha so the vet said we can use that if the chicken doesn’t work xx

When Ollie had diarrhoea I cooked him white fish ( it's smelly and, I think, easier to digest). I also worried about hydration, so bought a box of plain dioralyte from the chemist. Made up as per instruction n syringe fed 10mls to him every hour.

However, if despite this, Jasper still won't eat , you'll be best to return to vets for admission

I’m sorry to hear he’s not well Faye, as others have said I wouldn’t worry about him not going for a poo if he’s had diarrhoea for a few days, he’s probably cleared out. Sending him heaps of get well vibes x

Poor Jasper, come on little Cat Chat mascot, stop worrying your mum.

I agree about white fish as an alternative to chicken in these situations. Sometimes when they have had tummy upsets my guys reject chicken but will go for just cheap white frozen fish fillets - I microwave them in water. Fingers crossed it's just a bug xx

Any white fish, frozen or fresh, boil it like you did with the chicken.

    Hope he feels better soon.

I would also recommend white fish (I bought cod as that was all the shop had, but there are cheaper alternatives). There were microwave instructions on the pack.

Hope Jasper eats the fish for you and drinks the stock:). Next time, it'll be quicker, and less messy to microwave it;). . A fillet of fish will take 1-2 minutes, in short bursts , depending upon the size n thickness. I generally put it on a plate n cover with a lid. Flake off the cooked outer bits n put to one side to cool as you continue to zap the thicker centre:)
