I'm actually shocked.Went to a new GP yesterday(long story) and she did a whole proper health check and measured me..I've always always always been 5ft 7(well just under-5 ft 6 3/4) and now I'm 5ft 4!!!! Where have 3 inches gone??? I do have lordosis and that's all I can think of that could cause me to shrink like that.I'm actually quite upset by it.I made her measure me again to make sure.Has anyone else experienced this?

I can imagine that was a bit of a shock. Sorry you've shrunk when you didn't want to. Hopefully you won't shrink any more!

I'm sure it won't keep happening. What did the GP/nurse say?

It's a normal thing with lordosis of the spine but they will keep an eye on it as if I shrink too much it could mean the discs are getting too compressed and I could end up with a hunchback

Would it be worth taking up some gentle exercise like yoga, to keep things supple?

I would love to do yoga and also swimming however at the moment I am suffering quite badly with joint pain especially in my right knee and am walking with a crutch/walking stick.I can't get down on the floor as I won't get back up again. I am also totally and utterly exhausted allll day long.Doc is testing me for lupus as I have a lot of symptoms.

My sister had severe scoliosis she grew several inches after the surgery to straighten her spine. Good luck I hope it doesn't get too bad and you can get the joint problems sorted.
