Fell down the stairs Monday morning and could barely walk so spent 2 hours in A+E to be told it was a sprain, strapped up rest for a couple of days etc. It was getting worse so went back this morning and they xrayed it this time and it's fractured so I've been walking around well sort of for two days. I've got to try and work out crutches now which is fun

And no I wasn't drunk just very clumsy.

I can still sit outside just as long as it's not raining and enjoy the sunshine.

Hope you'll be back on 2 feet very soon.

Be careful a friend of ours was on crutches, went to cross the road and got one of them stuck in a drain. :D :D :D

OMG I didn't realise it was that bad :yikes: I remember you posting originally about your fall.

Do you know which part exactly you have broken? (I know you have said ankle but which bone).

I spent too many years working in physio so if you need any help mastering the crutches just give me a shout

    Keep ya chin up :)

I don't know exactly what bone it is I have no idea of the names and barely saw the xray. I think I've just about worked the crutches out not tried any sort of distance with them though

Oh you POOR, POOR thing. You have got my DEEPEST sympathy because I have been there and the memory is still very fresh!

I broke mine almost 2 years ago & ended up needing to get pins in it. I stepped off a kerb that was higher than I expected it to be and the impact of my foot hitting the ground splintered the big bone of my leg.

OH kept telling me it was a sprain but after 2 hours, I decided I wanted it checked out at A&E (well, I've paid enough in tax over the years, figured it was time to collect my dues!) and lo, it was broken.

I was 6 weeks in a cast, 6 weeks in a support strap, all the time on my crutches, and then a further 2 weeks later on when the pins had to come back out. 14 f***ing weeks on crutches!!! :incazzato:

I was told it would take the best part of two years to right itself - and they weren't blooming wrong! :(

The only good thing to come out of it was that I got SOOOOOOO bored in the house all day long, on my own, that I took up baking!!! :D It didn't help the already fading waistline but it stopped me from going mental.

If you need any tips on stuff, just gimme a shout. :D
