I have just mentioned this on another thread.

I find it really sad when people post that they have just lost a pet and members read the post and not reply :(

    Where is people's compassion??

Surely you could just send a reply of support or just say sorry or big hugs??

One person has had 5 replies and 64 views!!! could the 59 not be bothered to show some support for a person who has just lost their beloved pet?

I find it very sad :(

Yes I can agree some are not humans!!! :p

However you could just write "Sorry to hear your news" don't have to go into too much if you find it difficult.

I see a lot of people on here discussing all sorts and having arguments yet some of these posters I have never seen post a message on a thread where a pet has died.

I just find it sad- but then I am a big softie :D:D

I can understand what you are saying but I must admit I don't even read those posts as I find them too upsetting. I did try typing a reply to one when i first joined but ended up in tears so didn't post it in the end

It probably is selfish of me as the OP obviously wants some support but reading them just brings back painful memories of animals I have lost so I actively choose not to read them any more

I find it sad as well... fair enough to those of you who don't even look but to look at the thread and then not post on it is slightly insensitive :(

I always try and post on them if I see them. It's a shame how some folks can spend hours on here talking rubbish but won't spare the few seconds it takes to say "sorry for your loss x".

Like i say, I can understand those who don't even want to look but if you're gonna take the time to look then why not just post a small message. When my old budgie died last year, I made a thread on it and it got loads of views and no replies until I had to post on there again to point that out.

Hi, Good point, but some people myself included still find the subject too raw to even view (head in the sand syndrome), but I will make a point of offering Sympathies in the future. wayne.

But I talking more about those that do read the thread and not reply.

Maybe I should make an effort. I always try to when people posta pic of their pets - I love to see other peoples animals & it's sad when no one posts to say how lovely they are!

If you find it raw hun then off course you are not going to view.

I understand that. I too find it difficult. But if I read a thread then I feel the least I can do is reply.

I'm talking more about those that do view. I realise not everyone can post but still believe more could :(

If I was to post about getting another cockapoo you can be sure that I would get loads of replies!!! or if someone dares to put a cute crossbreed puppy pic up the thread gets inundated with comments.

Yet where are these dog lovers when someone loses a pet?

Do they feel more strongly to giving someone grief over choosing a crossbreed ( one example) than giving someone comfort?

I am with Cleo38 on both of these points, I cannot look in rainbow bridge. But if I view one in dog chat I post, similarly if someone has a dog that is in for an op that day.

Also on the photos, I love seeing peoples piccies and comment on them.

I am not talking about Rainbow Bridge section because that is too hard for most to post in, including me.

I am talking about when someone posts in the dog chat or dog health section that they have just lost a dog ( for example).

I'm not talking about everyone should read and post either. Just sad that those members who choose to read then don't post. :(

I'm guilty of this sometimes! I get really upset reading even "RIP Fluffy, my best friend" with NO detail so I dodge the threads as much as possible but then sometimes I look and then think "Nothing I say can make this better."
