    Layla is staying!!

I received landlords permission today so Layla is now officially mine. Now I'm off to buy her a harness and a collar, oh and a ceramic bowl and a bed and a tag and a lead etc...etc...etc... :D

The day I found her -

Oh I didn't know you had a fourth dog staying with you. Is she a rescue? :)

What a beautiful girl! :) I've only ever had boy dogs, I really would like a girl one day.

She's been here 5 or 6 weeks now. I found her while walking my boys one day. She joined us on the walk and followed us back to the vehicle. I knocked on the neighbouring houses as she comes across as a farm collie but no one knew her. In the end I took her home and got her chip scanned (she didn't have a collar) but she wasn't microchipped.

She was terrified of everything and once she got brave enough to come in from the garden she would crawl through doorways and flinch if I moved to quickly as well as running away from every new sound. I get the feeling she was kept in the back garden for her first 6 months.

She's a lot better now and moves much more confidently although new things do throw her. She is also house trained now and beginning to get to grips with the basics. She's currently in season so all her socialisation is on hold at the moment but she doesn't care as she can run about in the fields at work :) I think she's about 7 months old now.

Thank you. I can already see some differences between her and the boys, I never really thought I'd have a girl :)

Are they good or bad differences? You must be so pleased no one claimed her and it is lucky you took her in before her season or you can just imagine that she would of been carrying pups soon enough otherwise. :(

Shes such a pretty little thing seems strange someone would just abandon her poor girl. But I guess people will never stop surprising me.

She defo picked the right person to follow home, lucky girly. :thumbup1:

She's absolutely beautiful. I hate to think what led to her getting to you but thank goodness she did and you can keep her. I hope she has an amazingly happy and long life with you :)

They are good differences, refreshing. I can't even put my finger on what is different

See I get funny looks when I say that :)

Thank you, hopefully she's just got filling out to do from here on in.

Thanks, I must be mad!! Three dogs under three and one 15 year old!

I think I went a bit overboard  Oh well can't wait for it all to arrive!

    :D

Haha I was waiting for you to spot this thread :D I think you always knew I was going to end up keeping her.

    I certainly think so :)

I seem to attract them but most I manage to return to their rightful homes. She was filthy when I found her, just running your hands over her they came off black. I do think it's a lack of socialisation rather than abuse that's made her this way as once she's been introduced to something she is fine with it.

Thank you, people will never fail to surprise me sadly it's nearly always in a bad way :(

Thanks, she's my special girl and has well and truly wormed her way in to my heart.

I like to think she just lived with misguided people who limited their interaction and she escaped and found me rather than someone who abused her and dumped her. I can live with the former much better than the latter.
