    Helloo,

Just wondered if anyone had any advice regarding my poor cat Polly! I got her last year as a kitten and a few days after her first injection she started itching the site (top of her neck) and it went from a tiny bald red area to a full blown huge scab/infection ectt. The vets gave us steroids and antibiotics, assuming she was allergic to the vaccination! It cleared up after monthssss of drugs. A few months later it happened again which made me think it wasn’t the vaccine she was allergic to at all... she had more steroids and i cleaned it with salt water and it went away. Last week i front lined her and AGAIN, she is scratching her neck and has a huge sore. Im unsure if it was the frontline as the time before it was random and the time before that we thought it was the vaccine. Im speaking to the vet tomorrow and assume we will follow the same procedure of steroids... but has anyone else had this happen to their cat? Or have any ideas! She is only 1 years old. (The pics are rather nasty... the pics of it at its worse was after she had her vaccination)

    thanks in advance! Ellie

Poor Polly that looks really nasty.
I have no experience (thank god) of anything as bad as that but I would suggest that if your vet is unable to find a cause that you ask for a referral to a skin specialist or similar .Treating the symptoms is all very well but you need to know the cause .
    Please keep us posted .
