Hi, we have a 2 year old Patterdale who for the past few months or so has been itching constantly, he had a course of antibiotics and steroids and that calmed the itching down but now it's started again. He has had fleas although not many found on him and him and the flat has been treated. He also has worms as the moment, which have been passing over the past few weeks.

He's been to vets had his anal glands done, has now had two months/doses of Advocate, but he's still itching, we have noticed one or two fleas in the house still and as I said worms in his stools. He has always been rather stinky flatulent wise but he's been a lot more stinky lately also.

He is also off his food and it's very difficult to get him to eat anything, he is a fussy eater anyway but he's even turning his nose up at some of the things that he would normally love, though if you do get him started he will eat some. He does chew his bones a lot and ate his pigs ear he was given the other day as well.

The vet has mentioned the next thing to do would be allergy tests which would cost 500 pounds and could still not find the answer. How long does Advocate take to totally kill all fleas and worms? And could this itching be due to the worms etc? He's still playful but he does sleep a lot more than usual. We just really want all of this sorted out for his sake.
