    As some of you know i have posted about my friends litter of kittens. And the 'boy' Ginger and white......

    Well Ginge could now be a girl? :confused: Chris isn't too sure but he now thinks 'he' could be a 'she' :eek:

    I know ginger and white cats can be female one of my other friends has a female who is now about 10, but i thought with this litter it would be nigh on impossible!

    I thought a G/W coming from a Blue/cream would be male for sure?

    Mum is blue-cream? Then she is (in other words) a Blue Tortie. So she can contribute her ginger gene to her babies to meet up with the ginger gene coming from Dad.

    Tortie mum x Ginger Dad =
    Males = can be either ginger or normal (non ginger)
    Females = Ginger or Tortoiseshell

    Hope this helps :)

    Yes mum is a tortie but a blue/cream, not a black/red (which is much more common here)........sorry just they are just what i use to explain to people locally! Lol!

    Dad is a black and white.

    As it turns out mum does still have tabby markings so the tabbies also came from her. There is even a tabby with some small markings of cream! Gorgeous!

    Whoah hold on, thought you said dad Dad was ginger????
    So mum is actually a blue tortie tabby. OK, cool.
    But if Dad was black & white not ginger as you first said, that could make a difference to the colours of the kittens.

    No!! The only ginger is the new baby boy!

    If you look back on my other 2 threads about this then you'll see that dad is a mostly black with white feet/some belly and a stripe on his nose.

    Well that's normal then. A tortie mum can produce a ginger boy, no probs. Ginger girls are a different kettle of fish!
