I am just wondering if there is anyone on this forum from South Yorkshire. Reason is I can't believe I have had no response to my ad for dog carers wanted in 15 postcode areas of S Yorkshire. Is there really nobody?

I'm on the border between South and West Yorkshire, but have a full time job and a fair few other things, including four dogs to keep me busy.

What a shame! You can go out but we recommend not leaving your charge for more than 3 or 4 hours max.

I do I'm afraid. I have a very flexible job which allows me to fit site work in around my dogs for the most part, but it wouldn't suit most others; for example, I'm up at 4am in the morning to get out on site, and will get my lot out for a short break before setting off, should be out for about 3 hours before I'm back home and then they'll get fed. Saturday I've got a shift starts at midnight, my lot won't make a peep when I come back in the early hours of the morning, but it wouldn't suit every dog that isn't used to it at all. Plus in my spare time I like to train/compete with my two youngsters, which takes up any spare time I've got!

If I can think of anyone who might be interested and isn't a member on here I'll bear you in mind though :)

I checked the postcodes and mine isn't on there. Does that mean you have someone in those areas? I have a wonderful home boarder (not far from New Lodge!) but she is too far away to commit to day care unless an emergency. Do you do day care or is it just for longer stays? My parents come up if I need them, but would be great if there was somewhere closer. Thanks.

Yes we do day care but mostly it's longer stays. The postcode areas are the places we cover and since South Yorkshire is a big area and I'm operating this branch on my own I had to draw the line somewhere and decided to stop at Hoyland/Elsecar and not venture into central Barnsley and out the other side. I live in the S25 area and so it's quite a trek to visit my all my carers on a regular basis as I like to do.
