to mention Crufts!!!
Not at all, mention away
Never to early! Ive been thinking about it pre christmas!
I went last year for the first time with my yougest daughter and we both loved it!
Not planning on going this year but it's definitely not too early to start getting those pizzle wagons out of storage
I would love to go - can you bring your own dog along to watch too?
No. Only competing dogs allowed.
think i might treat mum to this and a hotel over at NEC!
Right then! Whose going? What day? Has anyone started making lists yet? I've got mine saved on my phone from last year with hall & stand numbers (sad)!
I need to make a decision about getting Sam's entry in!
If I'm there it will be Friday, Hall 5 with 'wee' Samuel , then probably sneaking off to Discover Dogs after we've shown (he far prefers to spend the day getting human attention than sitting at the bench with other dogs!)
I’m planning on going this year, I’ll probably stay overnight, anyone know where the best place to stay is? Preferably within walking distance.
Not too early at all! I was thinking about making a thread the other day but never got round to it.
I will definitely be there on Friday, over by the obedience ring for most of the time as it is the inter-regional team obedience and one of my instructors is the team manager for the Midlands team, plus one of my friends is competing. Holly won't be competing this year so I will need to find someone to have her for the day.
One of the handlers from one of the clubs I'm in is competing in the rescue obedience in the main arena on Friday also so I will try to get to see him.
Also hoping to make it along on Saturday. We live about 45 minutes away so it's nice and close for us
We're going Friday as well!
It'd be nice to say hello to more people this year. Last year I met @Westie Mum and saw @Katalyst for the second time.
I don't know if it's the best place but we found it perfectly adequate at The Arden Hotel. It is within easy walking distance although we got in a terrible muddle when we arrived by train and no one seemed to have a clue where the place was; i couldn't match anything up with my map.
Totally frustrated, headed for the taxi rank and the driver said it wasn't worth his while to take us and pointed at the hotel from his cab!!!
So - if anyone does stay at the Arden and arrives by train - head for the taxi rank exit of the station. Pass through the rank and follow the road straight ahead, passing under a bridge and keep to the pavement on the left.
There's a small roundabout (not a mini r bout but it is small) keep left and just follow the pavement right along. You arrive at the back entrance of the hotel. (You can see the arden sign from the taxi rank i think or certainly a little way past it)
You do not need to walk along any busy roads at all (it is busy at the front of the hotel only)
It was warm and nice and quiet at the hotel. We didn't eat there but stayed 2 nights and slept well both nights
I used to work at the Holton Birmingham metropole, which is right by the NEC. However, you will probably find it is fully booked now as it normally is around Crufts.
I've already booked my coach there and back and my hotel room so nope, never too early!
The puzzle wagon and I will be making our annual trip to Cruftshire lol
Might be going on the Sunday again, got a load of freebies and end of weekend bargains!
I was just gonna start a Crufts thread today! Good thinking
I'm there Friday, not with Cash, but supporting his pups who have qualified. Therefore as I'm dogless I've been roped in as a 'helper' so may well find it difficult getting away from the benches. However I want to shop too and I'd love to meet some of you
I want to go! I really missed not going last year, but we had just lost Maggy so I couldn't bear to look at any of it. But I want to go this year! We have Arthur now and my love of all things doggy is back Discover Dogs is my absolute favourite, I could spend the whole day there.
Last year I remember someone suggested PF badges. I can't remember if we achieved this or not?
