Has anyone had any experience with Irish Water Spaniels?

The breed standard says they are around 20-23 inches tall, has anyone found this to be the normal height for them are they normally larger?

I've only seen 3 but I would say that they were all about that size, certainly a little smaller than the average working Golden

Thank you :) From the pictures I've seen of them I always thought the were bigger.

They are on my list of breeds I'd love to own. Large spaniels but as mentioned a lot is coat.

I love them because they look so much like poodles. There used to be some near me and there are a couple in town now that I see being walked. They are big dogs but not as bulky as some breeds.
