    Hi everyone,

We have a ckcs pup Bessie she was 8 wks old yesterday and we brought her home Thursday. (named after Bessie in Enid Blyton's Faraway Tree books, hence my username also!) Our 1st dog. We have an extremely nervous/timid cat who has hardly been out from under the bed since Bessie arrived.

She's gorgeous! Has been doing really well with toileting apart from a couple of accidents has been going in the garden although she hasn't toileted at all since 5 this morning I think because of the rain:confused: Not sure quite how to deal with that, my plan is to just keep taking her out every couple hrs, after eating, sleeping etc and just wait as long as I have to?

She's not eaten much today either had breakfast around 8 but left a bit, didn't eat so much yesterday either but ate absolutely loads Thursday when we brought her home? Still not quite sure how much she needs yet the food pack says 35-100g so I guess their appetites can vary quite a lot?

Wondering whether it's ok to bathe her today as she's pretty mucky and smelly from our sodden garden but is it too soon as it's only her 3rd day with us? I don't want to stress her?

Lol. I can see I'm going to be on here every day with questions hope you don't mind!:D
(will try to put a photo on!)

Another doggie called Bessie! Well mine is Bess :D I named mine after the beautiful character called Black Bess in the poem the highway man. IT suits cos she has beautiful jet black fur like the woman and is totally beautiful!
Would love to see some pics of her!

Thanks for the replies all. Lots of fans of the faraway tree! My girls loved it. Took us a few months to get through the trilogy one chapter a night. They actually wanted to call the dog Fanny but I didn't think that was so appropriate lol !

aww cute dog, and welcome. Im sure she is already settled in , she looks happy and yes the rain puts my dogs off too lol! As for bathing her, i would suggest getting her to go toilet first if you can lol, dont want any accidents in the bath tub  I am sure a bath is fine, im thinking she would of been washed while at her other home, only i have bichons and white dogs get bathed alot lol.

Awww she is abssolutely gorgeous and my favourite colour in CKCS's.:001_wub::001_wub::001_wub::001_wub: My sister used to have two a few years ago but they were Blenheim and Ruby ones but I much prefer the black and white ones.
