    Hi all
Haven't posted for a long time.
We lost our beautiful Baillie in August. We didn't think we'd be ready for another but then we saw this lovely boy at the RSPCA.
His name is Dougie (That's pronounced Doogie for anyone not in Scotland :p:)) and he's 4 years old.
He's great in the house. We haven't started trying to leave him yet (It's only day 5).
Outside he's ok on the lead. Loves the long line and chasing a ball. Working on recall.
Seems to have a problem with other dogs though. Far away = ok.
Near him or straining at their lead to get to him = him straining as well + growling...and this morning nipped one of the friendliest calmest dogs on the street when he wandered over to have a sniff.
Thankfully we've known the owner for years and she's very dog savvy and understanding.
But we've got our work cut out for us there...
Anyway a couple pics of the crazy wee monster. 20191211_215437.jpg IMG_7614.JPG

    Thanks all.
He is a cutie. Small for a male Rottweiler but he is strong!
Just need to get him used to other dogs and hopefully end up at dog neutral.
    ;)

He’s gorgeous and with a little love and understanding I’m sure you can get him to relax around other dogs even if he’s never a social butterfly ;)

Thanks. It's very early days so lots of settling in to do yet. Taking it slow.
That's all I want, him to be relaxed around them. I'm not a social butterfly myself ;):D

    Update
It's been nearly 8 weeks since we picked up Dougie. He's still very affectionate and loves people. Doesn't bother at all if someone comes over.
Great in the house. He's getting used to being left. I got a camera to watch him :p
So a frozen kong and leaving the blinds open so he can see out is the trick. He doesn't go mad at everything outside, just wants to see
Also have adaptil plug in and collar.
We found a field to rent as well so that's great.
Had the behaviourist in last week. Fear aggression to dogs and a bit of over excitement. That went well and got tips that are helping. Muzzle training him too just in case.
But! Major breakthrough on Sat morning.
He met our friend's rottie cross and they ended up playing together off lead. :D
So there is hope for other dogs in future.
She will help him build his confidence no doubt.
This is turning into a novel so I'll stop now!
    Pics to come...

Oh and this one is funny. I put these side by side for comparison.
On the left is Baillie aged 7. Her face says this is my chair go away...on the right is Dougie in the same chair. His face says should I be up here?
(The answer is...that's what sofa covers are for ...lol)
