This seems like a ridiculous question and I am almost hating to ask it. Our bitch is 13 months old She had her first season in September and had a litter of puppies 10 weeks ago. Is t remotely possible she is in season again already? Our dog is behaving very oddly towards her!

    Thanks in anticipation

She's 13 months old and has already had a litter. Why?

Far from ideal situation - accepted. But that's no longer relevant. All puppies have been vet checked as has she. All puppies very healthy and had innoculations and gone to beautiful loving homes. What I am trying to avoid is another litter!!!!!!!!!!!

    How absolutely awful and disgusting!

but on topic, Yes it is quite possible.

Remove the male/send him to boarding kennels/a friend if you are not able to keep them apart.

If things do happen again there is an injection called the mismate which works like a morning after pill.

Get your dog castrated or your bitch spayed then.
    or
Separate them at all times during her season.

I have to ask, if you didn't breed from her, did you rescue her then? Did she come to you without you knowing she was in whelp?

I know it happens occasionally
