I had a gorgeous foster Bengal that was found with IMHA, it was a Very rough road for him. He required blood transfusions and spent 6 weeks in the vets. However he was on deaths door when found.
He made a full recovery and went to live with his new pawrents and hasn’t looked back.

Hello my Luna has this awful disease in 2014. It was acute and sudden, and by the time we got here to a referral hospital her pcv was under 5%
She had a blood transfusion and high doses of steroids and chemo therapy drugs for 10 months. It was a real roller coaster ride but she pulled through and is still with me today, with no further episodes :)

She also had a course of antibiotics (ronaxin) to rule out blood parasites.

Hi, is she still taking any meds as a result of the disease?

    Hi,
no further meds since she was weaned off the steroids :) the only lasting effects are constipation, I assume from the drugs killing off good tummy bacteria. I don't know how to correct this as pro/pre biotics either make her sick or she won't eat the food with them added.
We manage with likelix and miralax a couple of times a week.
