And at the end, it had the best quote I've ever heard about dogs in my life.

"A dog has no use for fancy cars or big homes or designer clothes. Status symbols mean nothing to him. A water-logged stick will do just fine. A dog judges others not by their colour or creed or class but by who they are inside. A dog doesn't care if you are rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his."

It's a great film and the end is so sad but I spent half of it resisting the urge to yell idiots. They basically did everything thing wrong with him starting with buying a large dog with no research because they were in a cartoon strip or something....

Did anyone that watched the film read the book first?
I've read the book and really enjoyed it but am scared to watch the film incase they've changed it too much. Is it true to the original?

I saw this movie a few months ago. Cute and funny. I think all dog lovers should watch it. :)

To those who didn't watch the end or didn't let the kids see it: watch it! Yes, its sad, but its life and it happens. The pets we love can't be with us forever.

I'm sure others on the plane cried to...or at least felt like crying but hid it.

Why, oh, why, do some people feel the need to reveal the ending to a book or film? :nono:
