I am thinking about Sponser a dog ,from dogs trust ,has anyone done this and what exactly happens
From my understanding you pay 'X' amount of money or chose the amount per month to donate towards your chosen dog, in return you get pictures / updates / letters/ CHristmas cards from your chosen sponsor dog.
I never really understood it to be honest, If I donate to a charity I would much rather them not waste money meant for animal welfare on sending out photos / paperwork, would prefer the money to go to where it was meant to.
Thanks i have never done anything like this before so i want to make sure ,
1 the money gets to them
2 like you said how much of it is spent on the pics
some thinking to do now thanks
I sponsor horses at Bramsby rest home. I pay £5 a year per horse/pony/donkey I choose to sponsor and get a certificate in return plus a yearly mag of there updates.
Never sponsored a dog though, sorry
Didnt mean it to sound so negative sorry! Just personally I dont understand the logic of giving money to a charity and expecting something in return.
Oh dont appolagize i never done anything like this before so need as many viewpoints as i can get
I don't think you sound negative at all. I'm all for giving practical help...handing in food/bedding/toys etc. But paying a set amount every month to get some "letters and photos" from your sponsored pet...I find baffling quite frankly.
I sponser a redwings horse. Get a 6 monthly photo and a magazine.
