Arwin is showing all the signs of being in the first stage of labour the only thing she hasn't don't is the temp drop but all other signs are there, she is even lifting her tail alittle now and putting her feet up against her box.
She is panting quite furiously now with deep sleeps inbetween.

Has anyone had pups born 6 days early and survive?
I could really do with other breeders getting back to me please!!

    take care
    Sarah

We are no getting throw up and lots of digging, she seems to be takingit in her stride as these girls do it''s always us that panic LOL.

She is very restless and constant panting bless her all the signs are there and her temp has dropped a little but nothing dramitc, she is in her whelping box and is moving from one side to the other and almost pushing her back end in to the corners of the box whith quite some force. So think we may well have pups by morning at this rate.

I have also consulted what we pom breeders class as the bible which is Hilary Hamers book "Pomeranian" it's a very old book but is great for building up to the whelp. It say in there that poms can go anytime from the 57th day to 63+ so not as worried now.

It will be a shame if se goes this early though as we have some of her grandkids coming for a visit tomorrow and she may well miss them now. Oh well I'm sure she will be much more occupied now.

I will try to keep you all informed as the day goes on.

    Take care
Sarah and a very restless Arwin

Sarah one of my bitches went into labour 6 days early. She had 10 pups and its not surprising she had thme early as she was like a barage balloon and could hardly walk.

She too showed no signs of labour she had eaten her tea and was inwith the other dogs still. I fetched her out to give her an extra meal at 9pm and took her temperature it had dropped but 2 hours earlier there was no drop. She had her first pup at 9.30pm and the rest quite quickly afterwards. It was her first litter and the only problem was she was frightened of the pups at first.

All 10 pups survived although we lost Dinky at 8 weeks due to megaosphagus which according to the vet was a birth defect but a million to 1 chance of her having it and certainly not because she had the pups early.

Good luck I'm sure she'll be fine. I'm of to ring craft with the hooligans errrr pups in a bit but will check in when we get back.

Arwin is doing really well, she has had 3 pups and all doing well at present I will put pics on tomorrow once we get passed the 24 hr period as she has had 3 in her last two litters and we have lost the smaller one in both with in 24 hrs so don't want to chance my luck just yet. They are all a good weight and were born very quickly. She had the first at 3.05pm and the last was born by 4.40pm.

Will let you all know more tomorrow.
Thankyou to everyone who was their to keep me calm and let me know their own pups were fine born so early. Although I do think if she had gone full term she would have struggled to pass them.

    Thanks again

    Take care
    Sarah
