    Hello everyone that reads this

I need some help with a problem any suggestions welcome -

How would you make your childrens birthday really special without spending any money?

Two of my children have their birthday next Wednesday and I have no money to buy presents or cake or anything, but I still want them to have a special day - I have printed some photographs of them growing up and am going to give them these in a special album that I have made -

Does anyone have any brilliant suggestions?

Many thanks and hugs in advance x

    Mel

My son is going to be 10 and my daughter is going to be 16 They were born on the same day 6 years apart (I know bad timing lol)

How about making up some vouchers for them to cash in when they want to so like

"watching what i want on tv for the next hour/ 2 hours"
"not doing the washing up tonight"

basically anything you can think of that you know they would enjoy or enjoy getting out of!

Subject to how old they are, pack a picnic and either bus or car it to somewhere nice and make an old fashioned day out of it. In my experience of kids the more basic you make it the more they seem to enjoy it  if making a picnic invite a couple of their friends. As sad as it seems not many kids seem to have picnics these days, even if its just in the local park  :(

    Thanks Bird excellent idea :)

There is an open topped sight seeing bus that stops right by my house I have just checked on line and it is really cheap to ride it on a circuit - :) will pack a picnic for the journey x

Oh, I had a bit of an idea! LOL! :D

I'm not sure where you're near, but many of the National Museums are free, might be worth a visit?

It's not much of an idea, but I thought I'd share it anyway! :)

OMG Paper Mache - I loved making paper mache (if that is how it is spelt lol) I could make one of those with flour and water glue :D yay brilliant idea :) I have some paints left over from a project I worked on last year and enough news paper to start my own news agents lol (although the news would be well out of date hehehe)

Another brilliant idea :D thank you hun x

That is a brilliant idea :) we live too far from one though - but it is still a brilliant idea - we have some local mine tours and some fossil quarries where we could go :) never know we might end up finding something special :D x

    Thanks hun x

Sounds like they will have a fantastic day with all the fab ideas.
I was going to suggest vouchers and a Picnic - but I've been beaten to it.
The photo albums is a really lovely thought.
They are really lucky to have such a thoughful mum - it's easy to throw expensive presents at kids, not many people bother to put so much thought into their kids birthdays these days, I'm sure they will really appreciate what you are doing for them and have the albums to treasure forever.
