Well, that's dinner for the next week done :D Put the slow cooker on this morning (After chucking parsnips, carrots, leeks, potatoes, onions, stock, dumplings and beef in it) and now I have delicious dinner for 7 nights ^_^ I'll just serve one portion tonight and freeze the rest :)

Anyone else have a slow cooker? Have any good recipes?

    Peace
    Akai-Chan

Spag Bol sauce is great done in the slow-cooker - fry veg & mince first then bung everything in & wait for a few hours. The Italians cook it for hours - can't stand it when people make it quickly & the mince is still chewy :(

Thankee for the links :D Those'll be going in my favourites... The book that came with the slow cooker didn't have many recipes in it :(

@Vickie - Yeah it's great :D I love being able to put it on in the morning if I'm going out then when I get home dinner is done ^_^ Makes my room hella hot though, especially in this weather :O

I love putting the slow cooker on before you go out then when you arrive home and open the door a delicious smell hits you and you don't even have to stand over the cooker making dinner. yum yum, drool drool.

Go go go get one :D This is the one I have. It'll do 7-8 portions per time. Pretty good for £20 :D

yeah... that'll do! Bit big for just me, maybe a smaller one.

I have the common habit of forgetting about anything in the freezer, reserving it just for 'emergencies' LOL It does mean Merly gets some interesting additions to his dinner from time to time though...

You need to put reminders out saying 'There's food in the freezer... EAT IT!' :p

Unfortunately I have the sort of subconscious that tells me: 'There are notes on the Freezer. IGNORE THEM' !!! :eek:ut:

I've got this one and TBH it is absolutely brilliant :D

Crock Pot SC7500 Slow Cooker Brushed Chrome & Grey 4.7L: Amazon.co.uk: Home & Garden

It can go on the hob (gas or electric) to brown stuff first and then put on the base bit so less washing up to squeeze in the dishwasher. There are five of us here (including Monty ;)) and it is more than big enough for us.

I don't do joints in it and my lot aren't keen on casseroles. Chilli, spag bol and loads of soups cos it has a warm setting.

Will check out the link for more receipes.
