You can start lead training her, I always start doing this around the house, then garden.
Make being on the lead fun, lots of praises and do it little by little or she will get bored.

To be honest I dont think it matters what lead you use when just learning, what ever she goes better in I spose. Just to get her use to the comands - Like 'wait'/'stand' when finished the walk, 'turn' when doing a triangle and the like - work out what words you want to use and stick to them, we all have different comands. I use turn and wait, I walk them into a stand, so know need to ask for it, just ask them to wait - and only ask of a stand when in a line up and on table :) but we all do it differently!

Make sure she can trot in a circle, lol!

I learnt the hard way with Cara, as she lives with Ditsy, I thought I had thought of everything to tell them about training her for show until I came up to see her at training class one night and tried to trot her in a circle - dear lord, twas so comical, we very nearly tripped up over each other :D:D

Needless to say, I soon got Ditsy working on that too, lol!!

You will be fine, and will learn as you go along - thats what I did! You will be taught the basics in order to get the best out the dog. As long as you and dog are bonded, and go well together there should be no issues.
The first few shows I did I had people come up to me and give me tips, told me what I was doing wrong and how to improve.. I did feel abit like they was being rude and slating my handling, but them 'tips' have helped me get better out of the dogs and enjoy it more. After all they could see what me and dog looked like together, I couldnt & no two dogs are handled in the same way.

LOL - I dont think I could ever go up to someone and tell them what they was doing wrong unless they asked for my advice  But another good way is to get someone to video you, then you can see for your self what you think would be better the first time someone video'ed me.. Ohh dear I hated what I saw, and certainly wasnt getting the best out of her movement!
