I have the fattest slugs in Hertfordshire

    The slimy slimeballs have eaten a large quantity of swedes I had planted the day before - about 60 young plants all gone overnight.

    Then to add to frustration I went to pollinate a marrow flower this morning and there was a large slug quite happily resting inside the flower. Getting the tinker out the flower snapped off.

    Yes I do use slug pellets - kind to animals type and the slugs ignore them.

    Then when we had the monsoon yesterday I had a wander round the garden and had to play a primitive form of hop-scotch to avoid stamping on them, great party they were having......

    Need to plant up the remaining swedes but I have some mesh to protect them with this time.
