Word of advice - get one straight away unless you are happy to have your furniture scratched. Kittens (well mine anyway) are brought up to use cat trees :Cat
Love your lion toy and owl bed though - you have to start somewhere :D
If this cat tree ends up being a nightmare to build I am blaming @lymorelynn :p

Such a nice breed though and the cats are really friendly and easy going. They also look beautiful, I love the faces... tho I do feel bad that it was bred into them.

I also adore the BSH but there isnt another breed of cat id rather have :) LOTS of brushing and bathing tho...
I can't say I've ever bathed my 2

This is currently quietly saying "buy me"

I meant the Persians, not the BSH.

Those are nice, but I prefer these which are the same idea and not a tonne more:

Infact some are actually cheaper

I got the kitten one of these cheap cardboard beds: http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/scratching_posts/cardboard_cat_furniture/315507 If it likes it I will get 1 one of 3 fat cat beds at some point

I finally got round to building this last night:

It was a real pain to build (I came fairly close to cancelling our engagement when I discovered that my OH wasn't calling out the instructions in numerical order, meaning that eventually we had to take all the steps off :Banghead) but I really like it

This one was rather less work lol

Might put it in the corner of our bedroom or just leave it infront of a window

I love the lion and the small basket/bed! Be warned it never ends, two years on I am still buying stuff (in addition to food/litter/other essentials!)

In Pets At Home last week with my son I confidently announced 'Cody wants a new bed' the rather weary reply was "No he doesn't, you want him to have a new bed and get those toys out of the trolley he hasn't got time to play with the boxful he already has!" it is really annoying when your sons grow up and become adults and start criticising your shopping!

I do like the lion though, I bet all the other cats have got one, and I need to look on zooplus and stock up on food anyway.............(Cody is going to love his new lion!)

Every cat needs a lion! And they all look very cute with them - http://www.zooplus.co.uk/customerpicturedisplay/shop/cats/scratching_posts/scratching_toys/468574

I share the same mindset - it is my OH's responsibility to ensure that I don't spend every penny we have on cat toys lol Tho at least I have been sticking to the lower end of the market - you can get some amazing things for a lot of money but would the cat care if her bed cost ÂŁ150 rather than ÂŁ15? I highly doubt it

Maggi loves those 2 wand toys you have there, pretty much the only thing she really plays with with us, she does however play with the ball track while we are asleep or out the room, and i keep finding her catnip unicorn in different places (under my bed this morning, dont remember seeing her with it tho) and she loves her puzzle ball when there is stuff inside (i have been putting applaws dry food in it and she is impressed). I am tempted by the lion tho but unsure if its too small for a full grown cat albeit a small cat ( she weighed 3.1kgs when we got her, trying to fatten her up a touch). How long now, its gotta be close right?

Days :)

The lion is pretty small, here is it with tiny kittens in the reviews:

It is pretty solid tho, it is strong enough (you literally screw the base onto the lion) for an adult cat, but it is just low.

I got a laser pointer on zooplus for ÂŁ2 my last cat (and me!) loved playing with those

You must be so excited, I was a nightmare as time to collect our new babies got closer, it's worse than waiting for Christmas when you're a kid
Yup exactly this :(

I have wanted a Persian (well a himmie) since I was a kid, but that was never realistic. Then I had Uni so again the time was wrong, then when I left Uni I went to live in the other end of the country for 3 years for a job, I did consider getting a cat for company but with we decided this wasn't ideal either. But I recently left that job to go home and move in with my fiancee now that she has graduated from Uni and we decided that we would make sure we found a cat friendly landlord so we could get a himmie - we turned down a few houses we liked over permission to get a cat, but we were stubborn about it and eventually found a great house that had a cat friendly landlord. We moved in on Monday, and the kitten comes home in just a few days, this very last stretch but time is realllllllly dragging - especially now that all the cat stuff has been taken out of its boxes and been set up. Horrible wait....well worth it tho.
