I am actually in tears. I just got back from taking Matrix to the emergency vets. She came in from outside and had cut her left side really deep. The vet thinks she caught it on a fence or something. This is the first time she has ever been hurt. She has infected it and has a fever, so she has to stay at the vets overnight and will need stitches and medication. It was actually one of the scariest moments of my life :(

Really sorry to hear that! Well done for getting her to the emergency vet. These things never seem to happen during normal opening hours do they?

I'm sure Matrix will be feeling much better in the morning, it's not nice that she can't be with you tonight but hopefully you'll be reunited soon.

Fingers and paws crossed for you both :)

Thanks. I'm just going to find it hard to get to sleep tonight without her. It's really bad luck as well as she only had her check up yesterday. I just can't wait to pick her up tomorrow

I'm really sorry to hear about little Matrix's accident. I'd be heartbroken to be apart from mine too.

Oh poor Matrix - its sounds awful. Its really scary when they do things like this to you.

I hope she had a good night at the vets and comes back home with you today. Fingers and paws crossed that she will be back to normal in a week or so.

Hi sorry I didn't reply sooner. Matrix is doing ok when we brought her home yesterday she was very disorientanted but today she is a bit better just a bit jumpy. I'm having to bribe her into taking her tablets. Thanks for all your kind words.

Oh and unfortunately she has to wear a cone to stop her picking her stitches. She keeps pn forgetting it's there and she looks a bit sad when she can't creep into her hiding places

Poor Matrix. When Patch had his cone he managed to keep getting it off. So in the end we gave up with it esp after wrestling with him at 4am trying to get it back on) & kept saying "NO!" whenever he went near his leg (where his stiches were).

Is she managing to eat/ drink ok with it on?

Oh bless her - she looks georgeous even with the collar.

Maybe its getting in the way of her eating, which would be why she didn't eat much (seem to remember Patch being the same - drinking was easier for him). You could always take it off when she's eating & put it back on afterwards. Hope she can get rid of it soon.
