My uncle died two weeks ago.

And whilst I know there is little point going over and over everything, I have questions that I just feel I need answered.

He was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, and three weeks later he was dead. He was given chemotherapy, he then developed pneumonia, was ventilated and two days later had a 'catastrophic' brain bleed (haemorrhagic stroke) and we had to turn his ventilator off as there was nothing more than can be done.

The doctor said had the bleed as his platelets were so low, despite giving them to him every day, and therefore (I think) he couldn't clot, but what I don't understand is why he got the bleed in the first place :( He wasn't obese, he didn't drink too much, he didn't smoke? He had diabetes :( I can't find much about the correlation between low platelets and brain bleeds online.

I just feel lost, why did he have to go :(

    Sorry for your loss

Sometimes there is no reason to what happens, it just happens....

Your uncle is at peace now

    Sorry for your loss.

Unfortunately these things happen, trying to find answers doesn't not always help, you are just torturing yourself, He's at peace, and past any suffering now.

I'm so sorry to hear this. There's nothing I can say that will explain why it happened or how it could have happened. I just want to say how sorry I am xxxx

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so hard to comprehend why when someone dies suddenly like that. Thoughts are with you xxx

Sorry for your loss. It's natural to look for reasons and explanations but often there aren't any. Try and remember the happy times , mark his passing with something he would have enjoyed.
We scattered my brothers ashes in Derbyshire on Monday , his favourite spot , sat and reminisced and ate cake with his closest friends. It was such a comforting , and yes, joyful, occasion.
I'm sure your uncle knew how much you loved him.

    Very sorry for your loss.

Sometimes, there just isn't an explanation.
