My boy Otto is the loveliest kitty I've ever come across; he's super chilled, loves his food, is playful and affectionate (when he wants to be!). He came to us as a stray kitten and has been a welcome family member ever since.
We're getting a female kitten at the weekend in the hopes she can be a play mate for him. We're very sensitive to his needs (whole prey feeding, adequate 'play things' etc) but really feel he needs a buddy as he's terrified of the outdoors so stays inside all the time. In the past he's also lived with a Yorkshire Terrier (who he plays ambush with!).
The kitten we're getting has been brought up around and plays with a lot of older cats, so she sounds like she'll be good with Otto.
I was wondering if anyone had any tips for introducing the two, or any warnings. I know Otto is lovely, but I'd hate it if in fact he didn't like the kitten and it changed his personality. I just want to take it very slowly and make sure they are both happy.
I'd also like to point out that my partner and I do want another cat too!
