How to help your dog and others survive liver failure

    After my young Shetland Sheepdog passed away from liver failure, I started a small group that’s been working with professors and staff at Penn Vet Med, UC Davis Vet Med and several associations.

    If we can show sufficient interest by dog’s human families, then they can prioritize teaching liver-saving surgical techniques to their students (currently it’s only conducted by faculty in sporadic research, though that research dates back to the 1950’s and with respectable success since the 1970’s).
