I fill large yogurt tubs with water and freeze them, then place in the water bowl. Fans running 24/7 if need be. Pickle has a large flat freezer pad placed under the cover on her basket.
Neither of mine enjoy much unfortunately.

we have a contraption for watering and spraying plants, no chemicals have been near this so don't worry, we usuall spray him down with lukewarm water, then towel dry him. always do take his bottle of water with me, it's a great contraption as it has a compartment for him to drink out of as well as bottle of water, great invention, you can hang it up in car or hook it onto belt loop, brilliant. :D

    I love the pictures!!!!!
Don't really have to cool down Rocky. He loves being warm and even today when it was 27°C (and felt even hotter inside), he wanted to snuggle up close with me and be under the sheets :

Great idea for freezer pack under the bed, and my older dog loves to crunch ice cubes and think a yoghurt pot size would keep him well occupied

BTW - Love your moniker - it's my sons short nickname :)

do not know from where I picked this up - or whether there is anything of substance to back it up - but when I first had weimys I was told that ice cubes 'could' be contributary to bloat- I have googled it on many occassions but found nothing of substance.

In hot weather they have a raised bed made from bamboo, there is a lean-to type shed that adjoins the kitchen but is open on all sides this catches any breeze from the fields and this is a great place to chill for dogs, kids and adults alike. I have a hammock there too.:001_tongue:

We have a water absorbent shirt for Boris! You soak it in water; put it on and away you go!! We also have tiles on the floor so he can come in from the patio and cool down... He loves to sunbathe, so keeps going out, then in, then out and back again all day.
