umm well embarrassingly, I had to do the written test a few times and finally passed by the skin of my teeth but when I went for the actual practical test I passed immediately and was told it was a smooth ride :D........cos I had been driving for months, little did they know ;) LOL

I passed on the second time - what a farce!

On my first test I had two - yes only two - minor ticks and my driving instructor said he could not believe that I had not passed. The examiner said that although my standard of driving was good, he had failed me because I had stopped at a junction when there was no need to, and a car might have hit the back of my car if there had been a car behind me!

On my second test, I pulled out of a junction and had to speed up because a car was coming up pretty quickly, I was in the wrong lane at a mini roundabout, I did 45mph in a 40 mph zone, and by that time I was certain I had failed, especially when the examiner started chatting to me about what kind of work I did. There were ticks all over the sheet - but I passed

Doesn't make sense at all, but it's true!

Six I think - tbh I stopped counting.

Combination of things meant my nerves were in tatters each time. (Driving lessons with dad, depression, dad being a driving instructor + me being in my 20's, rather than passing when I was 17 like my brother)

Good luck with your test :)

I passed first time, I was really chuffed, only member of my family to do so. It was the time before the theory test so I don't know how I'd fare now

Passed third attempt in 1994. Started having lessons in 1982:eek: My partner says my driving is erratic. I do tend to get distracted by gawping at passing fluffy animals, handbags that I like the look of, male totty etc:D

I passed first time aged 17...The examiner said he hadn't done an emergency stop and did I know why?.... I said no, because I couldn't think of any time in the test when I was extra alert...dog running out or anything like that.

The sod wouldn't tell me and I don't know to this day.:001_huh:

Its much harder now to pass a test especially for the young.
