I saw an off lead dog without an owner and it turned out he was sat in his car reading the paper. How on earth do you train a dog to stay on the field and not run off to the shops/road? If I tried to do that my dog would be trying to get back in the car!

Probably no training, but an awful lot of luck.

Sounds like one boring and unmotivated owner, no wonder the dog wasnt interested in getting back in the car.

The dog was probably bored silly without any interaction from its owner, not to mention what trouble it could have got into while he had his head buried in the paper.

Doesn't sound like training, more like lazy & irresponsible dog ownership:eek:

Oh dear, the owner sounds like a plank.

The dog might be better running off to the shops, getting picked up by the dog warden and then rehomed to an owner who actually cares enough to take it a proper walk.

Sounds like the bloke who used to sit in the cafe on the heath, having a cup of coffee, whilst his Bernese Mountain Dog ran all over the heath making a damned nuisance of himself and nobody picking up his mess.

Once he started on Ferdie and Joshua - he didn't like them for some reason, probably because they were bigger than him - so a quarrel ensued and I am trying to separate three giant dogs all by myself while this idiot is too far away to even see what was going on.

    Totally irresponsible.
