Home made food???

Hi

I have recently started making home made food for my two beagles. For a long time now I've had a bee in my bonnet about commercial food, especially dry and I found a book of dog recipes and started. My dogs love it but there have been ups and downs with their poos and what seems to agree with them and what doesn't - but I'm really worried about missing any essential nutrients and getting the balances right eg. Calcium/phosphorus etc. has this been discussed before on here or does anyone have any knowledge of this or know of any any nutrition experts I could contact? I'd be very grateful,

I don't feed home made diets so can't help too much. But yes you are right to seek help as if you are not clued up on creating a balanced, nutritional meal then you can end up with issues. It is essential you are feeding a balanced diet with all essential nutrients.

Dr strombecks book is good but his recipes dont meet the guidelines commercial foods use. For example his recipes do not meet the recommended guidelines for choline. He does talk alot of sense though and im sure his recipes would be fine. If you want a recipe that meets commercial food guidelines, see the link below
