Hi everyone, we're hopefully going to the beach tomorrow and I wanted to go to one by a nice walk so we could combine the two. Is anyone familiar with Holme Dunes in Norfolk and is it a good place to take dogs? I've had a look on Google and it says you can take dogs into the nature reserve, but there may be certain lead restrictions etc.

Yes I've walked my dogs there many, many times.

If you park just by the pubic toilets or on the small car park and walk across the golf course you will come to the beach through the dunes.

It's not too far from me & I've been meaning to check it out!

@Cleo38 has walked there, if I remember right & from the photos she shared it looks like a really nice beach.

At least it's convenient. When you gotta go you gotta go!

Where I live the nearest beach is around 2.5 hours away, whichever direction you go in. My thought was it's hardly warm enough to sit around on a beach but we could tie it in with a nice walk and get the best of both worlds. Holly loves the beach so fingers crossed for a nice day.

I remember my shepherds loving the beach, here's Trix enjoying the waves at Cromer.

Although one of the less lovely side effects was the amount of sand that a GSD can carry in that hair!

So we went! Had a lovely time and the weather was beautiful. Slightly chilly at times, but not too bad. We walked along the coastal path, then onto the beach. A certain someone enjoyed fetching her favourite ball out of the sea and had a good old dig in the sand.

We also stopped off at Hunstanton and went into a dog-friendly cafe for tea and biscuits before coming home. Holly managed to get her lead wrapped around a table and then caused a bit of a scene when she decided to move and take the table with her! It was pretty funny!

She's now home and snoring. Here are some pictures.
