Hi everyone! I am a animal lover from Wales. I am currently doing a degree in photography as well as breeding show quality Standard Rex rabbits and being a full time slave to my gorgeous Japanese Akita Inu, Jiro Go, bred by Kyokujitsu. :D

    Here he is...

Hi there from a former Rabbit Fancier (chocolate English in the 80's).

Really love the Akita Inu :D Met one at eye testing at Crufts a couple of years ago and she was so playful with mine.

For me they have more the Oriental look than the American Akita. More elegant.

Thanks everyone! What a warm welcome. Thanks for all the compliments on Jiro, he's prancing around so I think he agrees. :)

dh.dti, thanks! Are yours American Akita? Just to clarify, I'm not one of those many Japanese Akita Inu owners who says the Akita is an insult to the Japanese Akita Inu, I think both are lovely! I wish people would stop confusing the two though.

Brainless, hello! I used to breed English Spots too! I bred black and blue. Stunning breed, I loved them but it was so hard to find good stock, so I decided to give them up to concentrate on the Rex. I hope to start them up again once I have the space. :)

Oooh lovely. I'll have a look around for photos soon. I'm assuming you have some up? :)

Yes, I know about the original Ichinoseki and Dewa lines. I was very glad for the KC breed split! They are so different, both breeds need to have recognition they deserve I think and kept pure.

My next dog will be a brindle Japanese Akita Inu I hope, but I would love a pinto American too, so who knows! :D

T--jay, thanks for the photos, he is stunning, I love his markings!

dh.dti, yours are stunning too, I love the mum, what a gorgeous face!

You should check out Kyokujitsu, they're brilliant. They have some amazing quality dogs, and an impressive show record. Jiro's dad was Kajitsu No Hinomaru Go, a son of Kakusui, Kajitsu Kennels World Champion, and Fujimaru Go Seaside Nakagawa on his mothers side, so a lot of very nice dogs in his pedigree. They kept Jiro's sister, Akina who has done well so far, and I think they are breeding from her.

They have a gorgeous brindle male too, imported from Israel if I remember rightly. They have moved to France now, but they might be one to consider getting your new pup from. :)

Oh right, haha! I thought the male looked similar! :p

Good luck, I hope you can get one, I'd love to watch it grow up. :D
