Hi all. Am new to this forum and I really need advice. Daisy is a 12 month old yorkie poodle, she was socialised well as a pup with both people and dogs. Always took a min to warm up but ultimately was friendly and very happy. This all changed when she turned 8/9 months, she became absolutely terrified of strangers especially when on her lead and barks at everyone who tries to have a convo with me or tries to greet her. Mostly friends I bump into in the street, or neighbours are especially bad. She will also bark at large objects - such as bins or trolleys. She goes to doggy day care twice a week and absolutely loves it - she plays great with the dogs and loves the ladies who run it. She’s great indoors but it’s like she is constantly on edge when we are outside and if anyone gets too close - even sometimes just walking past her in the street she barks and barks and barks until she is away from them! It’s very embarrassing but mostly I feel it really really stresses her and me out. I have tried EVERYTHING - treats, including cut up chicken, beef, steak, liver paste, cheese. I have tried a squeaky toy to change her focus but nothing has worked. I don’t really know what else to do....could she improve with age?
