Got a interview for a health care worker in a low security mental health hospital. I think it's the same thing as a health care assistant but I'm nervous! I've no idea what to expect but I would like to get it.

Does anyone here work as a health assistant or know what the interviews are like? I know it's for 45mins

    eeek!

Just be yourself, they usually look for practical, caring people who are willing to chat to residents. You will probably have to help some dress, wash and toilet, depends on their capabilities. I did caring both with disabled residents with learning diffs and EMI elderly and it can be so rewarding. A sense of humour is a must and you must be unflappable or pretend to be. Im sure they will have training courses for u leading to NVQ s. Very best of luck, let us know how interview went. :)

Good advice from Gilly. They will probably also be asking you questions about your understanding of confidentiality - that's always a hot topic in interviews!

Good luck - hope it all goes well.

Best of luck for the interview. Sorry cant be of any help, but be prepared for the interview to be conducted by 3 people not just the one. Sometimes its the way they like to work things. Go prepared for 3 people and if you only get one then great.
