Am a first time user of any forum let alone one to do with dogs.have lovely black cocker spaniel, Hugo, 2yrs 9mths old.Suffered terible separation anxiety for quite while after we had him ( he was 8 mths old) but managed to sort that out with help of a trainer. He sadly suffered twisted gut last March 2007 and as a result lost a very large part of both his small and large intestine and the valve in between.Needless to say we had a very long recovery and only now can I say that I feel I have managed the whole process extremely well so that he feels well and now has a well balanced diet and pretty firm "poos"!!!My life hs been taken over by this and consequently he nipped in under and tried to claim his place as "top dog".He was fine when I went out to work and returned in a reasonable amount of time.If I tried to pop out again for few moments to fetch something or whatever he would shout and then perhaps "poo" on the kitchen floor.Too much after months of trying to help his body adjust to his reduced intestinal problem!!with the help of a wonderful lady, he has now calmed down and still needs some work but is happy in his crate and I am happy that he has reverted to being a dog rather than an emotional "human".We love him!!:)
